David already had the business mindset right from his University days. After getting a 9-5, he had the desire to support himself by starting a side hustle. A digital agency sounded good to him at the time and he went ahead with it.
While he was working in a company, David tried as much as possible to gather as much experience as he could. Sales, Digital marketing and strategy, and others. He registered his business and tried to get information about his choice of business from his peers and colleagues. He started meeting small brands and making an impact. In turn, these small brands would refer him to their own friends, families, and business partners. He did all of this while doing his 9-5 as well.
His desire to build wealth helped him have an introspective assessment of himself and his business and he decided that he would have to turn it into a full-time business. He did this by dedicating all his free time at work to growing his side hustle.
Time management and tenacity are important in David’s line of business. Time management helps you build your side hustle and still gets you your paycheck at the end of the month.
David also highlights the need to put yourself and your business out there. Especially during it’s early stages. Getting customers and creating brand awareness is what he focused on and he was able to get his first few clients. Have short-term and long-term goals for your business and stick to it.
